Adult Literacy

Support our projects

Poor basic adult literacy and numeracy are common in rural Malawi villages.

This project seeks to bring adult education to those within the villages who did not have the opportunity to learn to read, write or have basic numeracy skills.

It runs for 24 weeks, free to all who attend.

Bwengu Projects Malawi pays the teacher’s wages of £100 per month.

Since 2014, we have run the project in 9 schools with approximately 900 adults attending these courses.

Bwengu Projects Malawi is a small, family run registered charity (England & Wales number 1183709) run by Sue & Tony Melia together with their daughter Samantha, son-in-law Rob and granddaughter Abi.

Each year we identify, fund raise and undertake various education and community projects in Northern Malawi.
